Congratulations to our fifth grade Science teacher, Ms. Laforet, for being selected Teacher of the Month by the Harris County Education Foundation. The following is a video podcast created by her students in honor of the award.

It was another wonderful RIF yesterday. Students not only got to choose a new book for their home libraries, they also participated in some fun activities that included writing, and vocabulary! Thank you for all the support. You can view pictures of the event by clicking here.

I wanted to take this opportunity to show my appreciation for Ms. Masterson and Ms. Peña. They were able to collaborate with our P.T.A. members and showcase school-wide programs as well as the day-to-day activities that happen within our classrooms.

Ms. Masterson’s kids were lovely! They filled the room with joy and happiness as they performed an ‘action verb’ song as well as a ‘directions’ song in front of our monthly P.T.A. meeting.

Therefore, I want to congratulate and thank Ms. Masterson, Ms. Peña, and Ms. Knight for collaborating to make our P.T.A. meeting an interdependent learning event.

It is always essential to meet with our parents and communicate what we value… KIDS getting a quality education!

I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone that collaborated with the Technology Committee to make our Family Technology Night a huge success! We had over 140 parents sign-in, over 300 students, 70 College Student Volunteers, and our wonderful Herrera staff and students!

Please join us in congratulating our Herrera soccer team on a dominating first win of the season over Garcia Elementary. The score was 3-1 and the team worked and fought hard for the win!
